Contactless limit to rise

Limit for contactless spending to rise to £45
at the beginning of April

The contactless limit for in-store spending is to increase from £30 to £45 from 1 April 2020.  This will limited the need for physical contact with devices, where people need to input their pin number or in handling cash.

It may take some time for some shops to make the necessary changes. Most customers can continue to make contactless payments for higher amounts using their smartphone.
