ElderCare Hub

Longer lives are something to celebrate, yet alongside wonderful new opportunities later life can also bring many challenges.

Many older people are living at home well into their 80s and 90s, often while managing changes in health, mobility, finances and confidence. Families may also find themselves trying to navigate complex systems at a time of worry and uncertainty.

Paperweight created its Eldercare Hub so that no older person, and no family member supporting them, has to face these challenges alone. We offer practical help, expert guidance and compassionate support, tailored to each person’s circumstances. Whether someone needs help with paperwork, access to benefits, support at home or guidance through health and care services, we are there to make life feel more manageable.

Our approach is holistic. We look at the whole picture, not just the immediate problem, helping older people feel safer, more supported and more in control of daily life. We do not simply solve issues; we build trusting relationships that restore confidence, protect dignity and enable people to live as fully and independently as possible.

Managing finances, benefits and housing in later life can feel overwhelming, especially when forms are long, processes are unclear and energy is limited. We help older people and their families access the support to which they are entitled, including Attendance Allowance, Pension Credit, Blue Badges, Carer’s Allowance, taxi cards and more.

We also guide clients through housing applications and options, including support with providers such as JLiving and Jewish Blind and Disabled. By taking the strain out of complex paperwork and helping people secure the right financial and practical support, we bring peace of mind, greater stability and a stronger sense of security.

“We just couldn’t have completed the form without you and it took a huge burden off us at a time we just weren’t coping.

“You were professional, kind and supportive throughout a very complicated situation, and the outcome was so incredibly helpful.”

Health and social care systems can be difficult to understand, particularly when urgent decisions need to be made. We help older people and their families navigate these systems with clarity and confidence, ensuring they are not left to manage alone.

We liaise with social services, Integrated Community Teams, district nurses, therapists and other professionals to help secure the right care, adaptations, equipment and support at home. We help families understand their options, ask the right questions and make informed decisions, always keeping the older person’s needs, wishes and wellbeing at the centre.

“Thank you for being with me through it all and for holding my hand when I needed it most.”

Our role is often to be a calm, trusted presence during uncertain times – someone who can guide, advocate and help make the path ahead less daunting.

Sometimes it is the everyday tasks that feel the hardest. Opening post, managing bills, responding to letters and dealing with forms can quickly become stressful and exhausting. We provide steady, practical support with these day-to-day matters, helping older people stay on top of life’s admin and reducing the risk of important things being missed.

This kind of support can make a profound difference, helping clients feel more in control, reduces anxiety and lifts pressure from family members. It also allows relationships to focus less on administration and more on care, companionship and connection.

At Paperweight, we believe eldercare is not only about meeting needs, but about enabling people to live with dignity, confidence and as much independence as possible. Our support helps older people remain connected, informed and empowered, while giving families reassurance that they are not carrying everything on their own.

By walking alongside each person with warmth, patience and expertise, we help make later life safer, easier and more fulfilling.
