We are seeking an organised and compassionate individual to continue building our presence in Brighton.

Location: Brighton – remote and office-based
Hours: 6 – 8 hours a week (flexible)
Pay:£5,079 per annum

In this exciting and varied role, you’ll:

  • Support, supervise and motivate a growing team of volunteer Caseworkers.
  • Liaise with local organisations, synagogues and community leaders.
  • Oversee client enquiries, allocations and case progression.
  • Play an active role in casework, including advocacy, form-filling, budgeting and benefits support (full training provided).
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting via our CRM system.
  • Promote Paperweight’s services across the wider Brighton Jewish community.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A confident communicator and natural relationship-builder.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Compassionate and calm when working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Comfortable using databases & digital systems (CRM experience desirable).
  • Familiar with the Brighton Jewish community.

This is an evolving role, offering the opportunity to play a key part in expanding local services, supporting clients and developing our volunteer Caseworker team.

The coordinator will work closely with:

  • The Director of Operations
  • The Leeds Coordinator
  • The Communications and National Services Coordinator
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the Paperweight Brighton office and associated logistics
  • Organise meetings, manage the office diary and ensure the office is maintained and ready for use.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all CRM (Charitylog) data is kept up to date.
  • Liaise with, progress and monitor client enquiries from Leeds-based organisations and individuals.
  • Direct clients to the National Helpline for initial assessments and allocations.
  • Support elderly or non-IT-literate clients in accessing remote appointments (e.g. Zoom/MS Teams).
  • Undertake essential casework tasks, including form-filling, advocacy, budgeting and basic benefits work (full training provided).
  • Act as a Caseworker.
  • Support the ongoing recruitment, development and coordination of volunteer Caseworkers in Brighton (as and when required).
  • Allocate and coordinate Caseworkers to clients.
  • Support training, supervision, performance monitoring and evaluation
  • Assist in setting team goals, KPIs and deadlines.
  • Promote team motivation, wellbeing and cohesion
  • Plan and organise team-building activities
  • Identify training needs and help facilitate coaching and development
  • Act as Paperweight’s representative and advocate in Brighton.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with synagogues, Jewish organisations and the wider community.
  • Work with the Communications Coordinator to support press and media engagement where appropriate.
  • Promoting the charity and delivering presentations to raise the profile of Paperweight within the Brighton Jewish community

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is proactive, organised, efficient and a self-starter.
  • Is calm, compassionate and experienced in working with vulnerable people.
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and GDPR compliance (training provided).
  • Has good IT skills and experience using CRM systems (training provided).
  • Understands Brighton Jewish social and welfare organisations (desirable).
  • Has a background in welfare, social work or the charity sector (desirable, but not essential).
